Jennifer Holliday is a Broadway Legend. Her iconic role as Effie “Melody” White in the smash hit musical Dreamgirls (1981) garnered her a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical and her first Grammy Award for the recording of her signature ballad “And I Am Telling You, I'm Not Going.” Holliday makes her film debut as featured actor in The Road to Galena in a non-singing role. Her dramatic role as gospel singer Lisa Knowles on the Fox hit television show Ally McBeal endeared her to millions of viewers (1997-2001). Most recently she made a triumphant return back to Broadway starring as Shug Avery in the hit musical revival production of The Color Purple starring Cynthia Erivo (2016). Ms. Holliday is a longtime advocate for mental health and suicide prevention.
